Code of Respect and Responsibility
Our goal is to help each child develop self-discipline to make good choices. Together the home, school, and community share the responsibility for developing good citizens. Parents, teachers, and students must work together to maintain a safe learning environment. Phillips Traditional School utilizes a Positive Behavior Support Program (PBIS) to recognize the positive contributions of students. Each teacher has a discipline plan that informs students of classroom rules, consequences, and incentives. Contact your child’s teacher for more information.
Respect, Responsibility, and Safety is primary in all classroom and non-classroom settings. We recognize the good choices students make with Paw Prints. When students have earned 20, they turn them in and have the opportunity to be recognized during Friday morning announcements and the privilege to sign a star that hangs on the posters in our Phillips Pride Hallway. Upper unit students have the opportunity to have their names placed in a drawing for Friday breakfast with Mrs. Prior-Sweet and Ms. Doyle. As students continue to make good choices the incentives continue to get better as well. These are just a few ways that we promote positive behaviors at Phillips Traditonal School.
