My name is Jodi Larson, and I have worked in Des Moines Public Schools for 20+ years. I am from Ankeny and currently live there with my husband and son. I love learning as much as teaching and have earned a B.S. in PK-8 from Kennesaw State University in Atlanta, GA, a M.S. in Educational Leadership from Drake University, and a reading endorsement from Viterbo University. In my spare time, I read, play with my dogs, garden, and enjoy my houseboat. I am happy to be part of the Phillips’ family and look forward to another school year!
Hello! My name is Ryan McNulty and I am the primary 5th grade band teacher at our East Side elementary schools (including Phillips!). Every day, I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to help young musicians grow and begin to develop a life-long love of music! Prior to beginning this position in 2017, I taught 5-12 band for two years in Sully, Iowa. I hold a Bachelor of Music Education from Drake University and a Master of Music from the University of Illinois.
When I’m not at school, I enjoy playing my trumpet in many local groups, bicycling, and spending time with my wife and our corgi, Chance.
My name is Elizabeth Moldovan and I am a graduate of Drake University and Morningside College. I hold degrees in Music Education and Special Education. My name is Nick Quinlan and I’m 25 years old. I graduated from UNI in 2015 with my Bachelors in Physical Education. I have taught in Des Moines Public School District for 3 years and this is my second year at Phillips. I am married to my wonderful wife, Hannah, and we have two little boys, Brooks who is 2 and Boyd who is not even a month old yet. Outside of teaching P.E, I coach high school girls soccer at Bondurant High School. I love being on the field both playing and coaching. For fun I hang out with my family, read, binge watch tv shows, and play video games. Fun facts about me are that I have never broken a bone, and I can’t snap my fingers.
