This is my 19th year teaching English Language Learners, and my fourth year at Phillips. Most of those other years I was teaching ELL in foreign countries, such as Honduras, Colombia, Paraguay and China. I have also lived in England and Spain and traveled through over 50 countries. I was also a classroom teacher for many years, and I have taught many grades – kindergarten through eighth grade!
I grew up in West Des Moines and graduated from Valley High School. I have my BS in Elementary Education from the University of Iowa. Go Hawks! I have my MA in Elementary and International Education, plus my ELL Endorsement, from the University of Alabama.
I have three nephews and one niece who live in Creston. They keep me very busy. I also love photography, biking, soccer, and my yellow lab named Gordita. I live in Norwalk with my husband, Dave. His 14 year old hangs out with us on the weekends. We like to go camping in the summer, and watch movies in the winter.
