I am Kristin Drewis and I have been teaching for eight years with Des Moines Public Schools. I spent the first five years of my career working at Weeks Middle School with 6th and 7th graders and have been with 1st graders here at Phillips since 2015. I am incredibly passionate about teaching and work hard at improving my craft every single day.
When I am not teaching, you can find me spending time with my husband Scott and our three kids, Parker, Bennett, and Mackenzie. We love to walk our dog, play at the park, watch movies, and check out new things in and around Des Moines.
My name is Jean Kile. I am a graduate of Upper Iowa University and Drake University. I have taught for DMPS for 20 plus years from grades 1 through 8 at Lovejoy, Stowe, Weeks and now Phillips. When I’m not in my classroom you will find me spending time with my husband, Matt, and our two daughters Kami and Ashlynn. I spend my free time reading, cooking, and decorating.
I graduated from Drake University with my B.S. and my M.A. I’ve enjoyed teaching at Phillips for the past 18 years. I feel the most important characteristics for a strong elementary student are a positive interactive, caring, and understanding family unit. My wife and I have three children and 2 grandchildren. I spend my free time reading, playing golf, and riding my bike.
