Phillips annual Food Drive begins Monday, Oct. 27th and ends on Friday, Nov. 14th. Students may bring non-perishable food items and place them in boxes provided in their classrooms. Each classroom will be competing for extra recess. There will be a chart placed in the cafeteria showing how many donated food items each classroom has brought in. Thank you for your generosity.

Parents attended conferences and our book fair on Wed., Oct. 15 and Wed., Oct. 22.

Third grade students just completed the Structures of Life Unit. They enjoyed learning about the behavior and structures of crayfish.

Phillips kindergarten students are studying fire safety and received expert information from the firefighters at Station # 3. We appreciate your service and the time spent with our students!

Kindergarten students are learning the alphabet. Mrs. Stone-Flomo awards her students with a certificate when they have mastered the ABC’s. Students came to Mrs. Fitzgerald’s office to celebrate this wonderful accomplishment. We are proud of our students!

Des Moines Parks and Recreation and Des Moines Public Schools are partnering to offer a youth basketball league for the 2014-2015 season. The program is for students in grades 1st through 7th.
