Students with no buddy rooms or detentions for the last trimester of school were rewarded with a beach party theme that included hula hoops, kick ball, and beach balls. They also enjoyed an ice cream treat too! Congratulations!!!
Students had a special assembly on Friday, May 13th. KIOA came and presented a $5,000.00 check to our favorite lunch lady, Kim Leete! She won a game on the radio station Wednesday, May 11th. Congratulations KIM! We are so happy for you. Thank you KIOA for making this special announcement at Phillips!
Our 3rd grade students had a special visit from the Des Moines Police Department Friday, May 13th. They were able to meet one of the K-9 officers. Students learned the duties and responsibilities of the K-9 officer and how he works with his partner. Thank you to the Des Moines Police Department for taking your time to educate our students about the K-9 unit.
Our 4th grade classes visited Living History Farms on Friday, May 6, 2016. They had a beautiful day to visit.
