Students and staff raised $1,140 in less than a week to support ALS research. So, Kristy Fitzgerald and her 3 daughters rose to the challenge in memory of their grandfather and great grandfather who passed away from ALS and MD. Click the image to see more photos.

Open House at Phillips is on Monday, Aug. 18th from 5:00 – 6:30 pm. Come and meet your teacher, put school supplies in your locker, and tour the school.
Phillips PTA parents greeted new kindergarten families and shared information about all of the great activities at Phillips during Jump Start. Kindergarten students spent time at school visiting with teachers, learning routines, and touring the school building. Teachers arranged for each student to go home with their own copy of “The Night Before Kindergarten” by Natasha Wing.
Phillips Elementary School students and staff celebrated the last day of school with a picnic on the lawn. Thank you to all of the families who could make it. Have a great summer and good luck to our students moving on to middle school! Click on the image to see more photos.
Phillips Traditional School students unveiled a mural as part of their celebration of the school’s centennial. The students and staff designed ceramic tiles for perm-anent display on the wall of the main stairway. The evening was punctuated with student perform-ances and classroom displays showcasing areas of learning over this school year. To read more and for more photos, click on the headline.
Ms. Fitzgerald has extensive experience in the Des Moines Public School District and will be a great fit for the Phillips Community. She began her leadership at Phillips July 1, 2014.
